The CSA/ANSI and Manitoba Workplace & Health standards require that you train and certify aerial lift operators with two essential elements. These elements are theory training and practical training on the equipment that the operators use.
In-person training allows for more question and answers time with the students and the trainer. Our trainer completes practical training and evaluations with one to two operators at a time. Your other staff can continue to work before and after their turn with the trainer.

We only need a space big enough for everyone to complete theory training with the instructor and space onsite to complete training with the equipment.

Theory training

Your operator completes the online training on a computer, tablet or smartphone. During the course, they will complete mini-quizzes and have a final quiz at the end. Once they pass, they move on to the practical, in-person part of training on the equipment.

Practical Training

Our trainer comes onsite and trains your operator in their working environment and on the equipment they use. When the operator shows they are comfortable and the trainer is confident they can operate safely. The trainer evaluates their ability to handle the aerial lift. The trainer makes sure they can inspect, safely use, shut down, and park the unit properly.

Online training can take approximately 2-2.5 hours if they go through the course without stopping. However, they can start and stop at any point in the program to take care of their other work responsibilities.

Onsite practicals usually take a 1/2 hour to 1 hour. But it depends on the skill level of the operator. We want to make sure your operator is competent to use the equipment efficiently and safely. When they need more time with the trainer, we give them more time.

At Onsite, we don’t believe in rigid schedules or making you wait any longer than necessary. Time in your industry equals money. We book on-demand to keep our service a practical choice for you. You won’t have to wait for two weeks to get your staff trained. Most of our clients get the training they need within days of their request.

Operators are certified for three years after the date of the training. After your employee has expired or in the event of an incident, Onsite can retrain. We will train them based on their level of experience.

Our aerial lift course prices are $195.00 for a single aerial lift course, $295.00 for combined aerial lifts and an additional $99.00 to add aerial lift fall protection training. You can also create a customized bundle of programs that work for you.

Manitoba Regulations for Forklift Operators:

Depending on the mobile equipment, the standards that are referred to by Regulations are the CSA and ANSI standards. (Canadian Standards Association and American National Standards Institute.  Each province will refer to one or both standards. In Manitoba both standards are recognized and IBR (incorporated By Reference) by Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health.

22.29 (1) No employer shall require or permit a worker to operate a powered lift truck unless the employer has issued a certificate to the worker under this section.

22.29 (2) No employer shall issue a certificate to a worker to operate a powered lift truck unless the employer has first ensured that the worker
(a) Has received instruction, training, and testing in the operation of the powered lift truck in accordance with a code of practice approved and issued under the Act.

What is your minimum number of trainees?

We don’t have a minimum. If you need to train just one operator, You pay a $50.00 surcharge to the regular rate.
